Sandra is a general practitioner with special interests in skin cancer medicine, mental health, ADHD assessment and management, perimenopause and menopause. She completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2003 at the University of Qld, and has worked in general practice since 2007.

Get to Know Dr. Sandra Skinner
Sandra has lived and worked in North Queensland for many years. She grew up on cattle stations and completed primary school via correspondence - what is now known as Distance Education, and School of the Air via two way radio.
After high school, Sandra attended university and completed two degrees. Her first degree was a Bachelor of Science, physiology/pharmacology major, initiated at University of Queensland and completed at James Cook University. She then went on to study in the graduate degree Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland, completed her MBBS in 2003. She was awarded Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011. ​
Sandra has worked in rural and remote areas as doctor for most of her career. She appreciates the challenges of living in isolated areas, but also the advantages and joys of rural life and community.
